Burleighvilla (pronounced Bur - Lee - Villa) Stud is situated on the rolling hills of Upper Moutere in sunny Nelson. Our farm has been in the Teece family for over 100 years and has always been called "Burleighvilla Farm" hence the stud name. It was mainly used as a sheep and beef farm but as it past through the generations it was used for different things, crops, dairy and now my parents have an orchard with Apples and Black Currants. My siblings and I are the 5th generation on this beautiful farm which once consisted of well over 1000 acres of the stunning Upper Moutere landscape.

I have been breeding ponies since I was 12 years old and thoroughly enjoy it. I originally set up to breed Welsh Sec A and Partbreds but when searching for Broodmares I found myself drawn to the elegance of the Riding Pony. My aim is to breed and produce top class Riding Ponies and Show Hacks, with Arabian and Welsh influences, of the highest distinction, with my current stock from leading studs in New Zealand and Australia and with the highest quality bloodlines from around the world I believe I am well on my way to breeding the type of equine that will win at the highest level of showing, Nationals, Grand Nationals, Royals and Horse of the Year.
